What economic structures might help shift to sustainable living?
Spiritually-minded people must not just think globally, but locally as well. If there are blue collar or white collar workers unemployed at home, take care of them before you worry about peoples of miles away from you. That is not to say that you forget about them, but once you have taken care of the millworker, the auto worker, the steel worker, the white collar professional, etc., and you have had a chance to share with them your spiritual values, they will be more inclined to work with you or to offer ways you can build sustainability.
The problem with shifting to sustainable living involves the developmental level of consciousness most people, especially Americans are at in the present moment. The US is mostly a Blue/Orange society, with a touch of Red, as the majority of American believe in a Divine Order that guides material success, as long as you follow the rules, which sometimes acts at a Red level (witness Iraq) through Blue discipline (bringing democracy, rule of law, etc., except when it applies to our greed).
Those of us who are Green going into Yellow and beyond, cannot be all misty-eyed and wimpish when confronted with this reality. You must understand where they are coming from, so that you can move them away from Blue moralistic authority and Orange greed, the most negative aspects of these levels. Also, Green must not be arrogant and elitist. You cannot look down your nose at those who do not shop at Whole Foods, drink Starbucks coffee, wear natural clothes, eat meat, etc. Accept people as they are. Change their minds, not them.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
Back to normal
What is your recipe for world peace?
One part Jewish Social Justice (concern for the poor - tzedakah plus)
One part True Christian love (not that phony Right-wing kind)
Heavy dose of Sprial Dynamics/Integral Politics/Spirituality/Business
Good dose of common sense and realism
and for good measure, a silent, but confident strength of force to protect those who cannot defend themselves.
What, currently, is your greatest challenge?
What do you want to accomplish this month?
If you could teach this community something, what would it be?

Addendum
Engaged in an on-going, personal study of Buddhism, Zen Buddhism, Engaged Buddhism, Memetics, Spiral DynamicsTM, and the writings of Ken Wilber. By studying these subjects, I have gained insight into the underlying psychological causes of world events, especially in regard to the evolution of consciousness at various levels or stages of human existence. This has lead to an awareness of the direction human evolution and human existence might take in the future.
